We did not stay at the apartment advertised but had a room directly with Sunil and his family which was extremely enjoyable. His family is great, particularly his young son. Sunil is VERY enthusiastic about his role as host and travel guide. He is very helpful. The room was a good size with own bathroom next door. The location is outside city away from sights and can be difficult to get to as bus routes are not excellent and tuk tuk only work certain areas so you have to change. But Sunil guides you. The family offered to share any meals with them at a reasonable cost. The only drawback was no internet connection at that time. Hopefully Sunil may address that in future. We enjoyed our stay with them and would return if we travelled to Kolkata, especially if wanted place close to airport. We wish to thank Sunil and his family. It was a privilege to share their family time with them.

Sunil and his lovely family's hospitality should go under the heading "Legendary". We had a great time and a very comfortable stay at his house......... Would go back every time we would be in Kolkata.........

My stay at Sunil's flat was peaceful and relaxing. If you have to catch a morning flight, the VIP Enclave is at a very convenient 15 minutes distance. Compare this with staying at the city centre - you got to invest at least two extra hours plus allowances for uncertain traffic. I was delighted to have personalised services from him including picking from and dropping me at the airport, taking out on a city sight seeing tour and advising me on how best I can, on my own, travel within the city. His charges are very reasonable and did not seem to be fussy about it. As a local Kolkata resident, Sunil is very knowledgeable, helpful and can advise you on almost any of your needs in India, i.e., business, medical and spiritual visits anywhere in the country. The kitchen needs some attention though, the rooms are clean and well ventilated. So, I would highly recommend Sunil for a satisfactory 'homestay' in Kolkata.
