I cannot say enough great things about Stella and Hugo. Prior to my arrival, Stella and Hugo were very helpful and arranged my transportation to their home. When I arrived, they greeted me with open arms then escorted me to my room. Throughout my stay, Stella cooked breakfast each morning and helped me navigate through Medellín by sending well written directions and answering all of questions. She also walked me to the Arkadia Mall nearby to help me find items needed for my stay. Because of the change in climate, I became sick around the 3rd day but Stella took care of me and made sure I had meds, water and food. We spoke Spanish daily and she helped with words I did not understand. Overall, I must say I received exceptional service and would not hesitate to stay at Stella’s again when I visit Medellín. Lastly, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks so much Stella and Hugo!

I had such an amazing stay with Stella and her family for a month. In fact, I've decided to return soon. Stella and Hugo were such amazing hosts, ever day I came home to fresh fruit juice and warmth. I received many recommendations from the family and got to meet two other cool people improving their Spanish here in the Homestay as well. We became a tight knit family. I ended up moving to the top floor because the room is sooooo nice and it has a kitchen. Stella and Hugo don't speak English fluently which is perfect for YOU since this is a great language exchange. You are forced to speak only Spanish. She also toured me around the area which was so nice and they can have someone pick you up from the airport. I have a C1 level for Spanish but still so much to learn so being welcomed into the family was perfect for me. You learn so much about the culture and you improve your Spanish. 10/10 homestay.

Stella and Hugo are awesome! Exactly what you’d expect from a homestay. Are very nice, accomadating, and want to share all they can about Medellín! 100% recommend. The only caveat is that they dont speak english so I’d recommend at least at b1 level in spanish. Also the neighborhood is very family friendly but a bit far from the nearest metro stop (20 min). Wasn’t a big deal for me but may be for some others.

Incredibly hospitable people, which are happy to show you around in various parts of Medellin and also teach you Spanish (by giving the opportunity to practice and adding corrections). They live in a very safe and calm neighbourhood with many options to eat out at night in walking distance. Thank you for treating me as one of your own :).

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This was my first ever homestay on my first ever solo trip and I am so happy that I chose Stella and Hugo's house. They are sooooooo incredibly kind and light-hearted. My room had a Queen size bed, desk, big closet, and multiple outlets. The house is also right next to a small park and 10 minutes walk from a shopping mall. We spoke Spanish 99% of the time in the house and it was a great opportunity to practice before heading to a formal Spanish school. Breakfast is included and often consists of juice, fresh fruit (sometimes from the garden), eggs, and an arepa. Super healthy and delicious! We also went on a full day adventure to explore Parque Arvi and Stella and Hugo also took me to visit a beautiful farm where a woman runs meditation retreats because I said I was interested in doing one. I can't recommend their house enough. I felt super super safe and cared for during my stay and would come back anytime.

We had a wonderful time with Stella and Hugo. We ate breakfast with Stella and diner with both of them most of the time and had great conversations in Spanish. It was really good for practising our Spanish and Stella helped us with conjugations and we learned many new words. Stella told a lot of interesting stories about Medellín and gave a lot of tips what to do there, the Colombian culture and many different topics. It was a great experience and exactly what we looked for in a homestay! It felt like a home (away from home) for us :) The room was really comfortable with private and modern bathroom, enough space for all your stuff, comfortable bed. And I forget to mention the tv with Netflix/Disney+ in the room! Most of the time when we came back from our day trip, the bins were already emptied and bed tidied (or even a clean sheet every 3-4 days). When we come back to Medellín, we are coming back to Stella and Hugo, for sure!

Stella and Hugo are terrific hosts; my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in their home while we had 2 weeks of Spanish classes in Medellin. They were very attentive to our needs, asking what we wished for breakfast and shopping accordingly. We were in a suite in the top level of the home (2 flights of stairs), very spacious and with good light, balcony, new bathroom with washing machine, kitchen area, cable TV, etc. The home is in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood, the one drawback being that their home is very near the 'old' Medellin airport, only in use for regional flights nowadays, but it does get noisy starting at 6am or so. Stella was very interested in chatting with us, so we were able to 'work on our Spanish' by relating to her and Hugo -- definitely an added plus to our schooling! My wife and I highly recommend Stella and Hugo's home, with no reservations whatsoever.

Stella is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is very hospitable and wants you to feel at home, at her home. You will be treated with the utmost level of respect by her and her family. I always felt a sense of safety and also privacy, when desired. The neighborhood is quiet and Stella is always there to offer you delicious juice. I recommend staying here during your visit to Medellín.

My parents from Colombia! :-) Stella und Hugo are super, super lovely and i highly recommend staying here! I spent several weeks with them while i went to spanish school. I enjoyed every day a lot. The house is very cozy, clean located in a quiet neighborhood and it belongs to the best hosts, Stella and Hugo :-) I will come back for sure! Thank you so much!
